Chopping it up our connect with the Brothers Brooks
This was a a very productive day! Went to chop it up with our connect and make sure the cracc was 100% uncut war. Weirdoz went in to try on the fall and Holiday collection from. Making sure we can meet what we think are the need and wants for our clients @ Weirdoz O.W.N.L.I. Boutique. We went through every item and choose top notch quality pieces. After placing order we had a great conversation about the "Game", The Fashion Game that is. We discuss the responsibility as us being boutique owners to educate and properly introduce dope and new brands to a customer and turn them in to a clients. Our State of New Jersey is filled with people who are so stuck in their ways we have a lot of work cut out for our selves. During this conversation jokingly the word "country" was used in reference to the way allot of guys in Jersey dressed. That's how NY view Jersey and I guess we can go back and forth name calling but we can't be in denial that allot of Jersey guys a resistant to change and only if they see a rapper with it on then its OK to wear it. Much more was shared amongst us Sellers and Buyers but it was for the better of the common good and we thank our connect!

They are right in a sense but what frsh new ideas are designers bringing to the game. I see homeboy rockin a Polo shirt whats new and innovatitive about that? Jersey isn't about trends we are about timeless pieces!

In fashion certain trends and brands go out of style but certain pieces don't. For instance I might buy a certain piece from you guys today but tomorrow it might go out of style, Jersey heads stay consistent to a certain type of dress code, which never goes out which is jeans, t-shirt and boots. Nothing more nothing less, unless you are apart of a culture gang, skateboard etc. Which all relate back to hip hop essence, t-shirt, jeans and boots. We are blue collar workers over here not pretty boys. We dress for comfort not for statements. I think its more so how you rock it than what you got on and thats where we fail in Jersey. ~Al~
Well I understand that Jersey has a specific dress code, my question is why is that? Why is dressing subjected to a code? How you dress expresses who you are. When a person meet you the first thing they see is your appearance, your attire, how you groom yourself. They don’t say first impression count just to say it. It’s the truth how a person sees you for the first time leaves a lasting imprison on them. Now to address the “Blue Collar Workers statement” just because you’re a blue collar work doesn’t mean you have to dress like a blue collar work all the time? There’s nothing wrong with being a blue collar worker but I’m sure after work they like to throw on some nice threads and step out with there lady. I believe if you put yourself in a cast you’ll never break out of it. “Dress like your going to meet Bill Gates, or Oprah is how I see it.” You never know who you’re going to run into some one of great importance that can get you closer to your dreams in life, so why chance it by slacking. Dress for comfort doesn’t mean look like a bum. You can be comfortable in Nikes, Adidas, Prada and Gucci. It’s all about if you know how to dress or not. You should dress for comfort and statement.
I would agree but for me it all goes back to the statement that we dress country which is not true. The point I was making was more so in reference to our d-boys but they put on too when neccesary. Personally I like different pieces but can I rock it a year from now or two. There are always gonna be trends which I'm a part of but I believe on an everyday basis us in Jersey goes on comfortablity based on their day to day jobs and lifestyles thats where the blue collar statement comes in. In New York the lifestyle is different because if u know it or not people are dressing to impress bcuz of where they are at, I think it's less pressure in Jersey to look extra fly. Whereas in New York it's a lifestyle. One thing for me I would love to rock trendy pieces but my pockets can't afford to pop tags everyday.
